BLAZER GAMEDAY POSTER

This poster was designed for the Blazers Gameday Posters. February is Black History Month. This is a celebration. Everyone knows the big problems that are going on with race around the world. The fact that athletes and celebrities are using their platform to spread a non-violent message is amazing, from kneeling, to speaking up about violence and people being mistreated. I’m inspired by a combination of that and out ancestors who pavers the way. This is why in the illustration the basketball player is in the air with the ball in a powerful, confident dunking position. He is yelling for everyone to speak up for injustice, disrespect, racism - to spread positivity and love. One of hiss fists is up in the air to show pride and respect. One knee down representing a message that is being passed along. We are not standing for disrespect, injustice or racism.
